OpenAssistant includes a growing library of System Tasks & Workflows designed to help you accomplish common tasks without writing detailed prompts from scratch.
There are two types of system tasks:
One-Time Tasks – Run whenever you need them.
Recurring Workflows – Run automatically on a schedule after you enable them.
One-Time Tasks
One-time tasks are available whenever you click New Task. Simply select a template, fill in any requested information, and your assistant will handle the rest.
Examples include:
Summarize a document
Prepare for a meeting
Research a company
Draft an email
Review a contract
Schedule a meeting
Most templates only require you to fill in a few details, such as a person, company, document, or topic.
Recurring Workflows
Recurring Workflows automate tasks that should happen on an ongoing basis.
To enable one:
Open the Recurring Tasks tab.
Browse the available workflows.
Toggle a workflow On to enable it.
Complete any required settings.
Save your changes.
Once enabled, your assistant will automatically run the workflow according to its schedule. You can disable any workflow at any time by toggling it Off.
Examples include:
Daily agenda
Meeting preparation
Industry news briefings
Teach Your Assistant
One of the most powerful features of recurring workflows is that they improve over time. After a workflow runs, you can give your assistant additional instructions about how you'd like the results presented.
For example:
"Keep these summaries under five bullet points."
"Always highlight anything urgent first."
"Include action items at the end."
"Only notify me if something requires my attention."
Your assistant remembers these instructions and automatically applies them the next time the workflow runs, creating a personalized experience without requiring you to reconfigure the workflow each time.
