Supervision and Autonomy Settings allow you to control how independently your Skej assistant can operate.
Unlike previous versions of Skej, the new platform gives you granular control over both:
What actions your assistant can take without approval
How visible you remain in conversations your assistant manages
This allows you to choose the level of involvement that matches your workflow, from fully hands-on to fully autonomous.
Understanding the Difference
There are two separate concepts:
Autonomy
Autonomy determines whether your assistant needs approval before taking actions. Examples:
Sending emails
Sending messages
Scheduling meetings
Updating calendars
Modifying contacts
Taking actions through connected integrations
Supervision
Supervision determines how visible you remain on conversations and communications handled by your assistant. Examples:
Whether you are copied on emails
Whether you remain on scheduling threads
Whether participants can see your involvement
These settings work together but control different aspects of assistant behavior.
Autonomy Settings
Navigate to the Autonomy section to control how independently your assistant can act. You can configure autonomy globally or separately for specific action types.
Autonomy Levels
Manual
The assistant will not take action until you explicitly approve it.
Examples:
Review an email before it is sent
Approve a calendar event before it is created
Approve a CRM update before it is submitted
Manual mode provides the highest level of oversight.
Confirmation Window
The assistant prepares the action and notifies you before proceeding.
You are given a configurable period of time to:
Approve
Modify
Cancel
If no action is taken during the confirmation window, the assistant proceeds automatically. This mode provides a balance between speed and oversight.
Autonomous
The assistant acts immediately without requiring approval.
Autonomous mode is best for trusted workflows that do not require review.
Action-Specific Autonomy
You can configure autonomy separately for different categories of actions.
Email Sent From Your Assistant
Messages sent from your assistant's own email address.
Email Sent Impersonating You
Messages sent from your connected email account as if they came directly from you. Many users choose stricter approval requirements for this category.
Messages Sent From Your Assistant
Messages sent through connected communication channels such as:
Slack
Microsoft Teams
SMS
WhatsApp
iMessage
Calendar Actions
Calendar-related actions including:
Scheduling meetings
Rescheduling meetings
Moving events
Canceling events
File Actions
Actions involving connected file systems and storage platforms. Examples:
Creating files
Editing files
Deleting files
Contact Actions
Actions involving contacts and contact records. Examples:
Creating contacts
Updating contacts
Merging duplicate contacts
Third-Party Skills
Actions performed through connected integrations and external applications. Examples:
CRM updates
Project management tools
Internal systems
Connected business applications

Third-party skills → Manual

Third-party skills → Confirmation Window
Fully Autonomous
Most actions → Autonomous
Emails impersonating you → Confirmation Window or Autonomous
Supervision Settings
Supervision controls how visible you remain on communications handled by your assistant.
Supervised
You are always included on emails and messages your assistant sends. This provides maximum visibility into assistant activity.
Recommended when:
You are onboarding
You want complete oversight
You regularly participate in scheduling conversations
Semi-Supervised
Your assistant keeps you on conversations where you are already participating.
It does not automatically add you to new conversations unless needed.
This mode balances visibility with inbox management.
Unsupervised
Your assistant operates independently.
You receive a copy of the first communication, after which the assistant continues managing the conversation without keeping you on the thread.
This minimizes inbox noise while still providing awareness that a conversation has begun.
Visibility Settings
Visibility determines whether other participants can see that you are included on a conversation.
CC
You are visibly included on communications. Recipients can see that you are copied on the conversation.
BCC
You are silently copied on communications. Recipients cannot see that you are included.
Recommended Setup
Most users find success with the following configuration:
New Users
Autonomy: Manual or Confirmation Window
Supervision: Supervised
Visibility: CC
Regular Users
Autonomy: Confirmation Window
Supervision: Semi-Supervised
Visibility: BCC
Power Users
Autonomy: Autonomous
Supervision: Unsupervised
Visibility: BCC
As your confidence in your assistant grows, you can gradually increase autonomy and reduce supervision to allow Skej to handle more work independently.
