How does monthly or annual billing work for my team?

Skej uses a simple, flexible billing system that makes it easy to manage your subscription and team members. Here's how it works:

How Billing Works

Seat-Based Billing

  • Billing is handled per team and is seat-based — you pay for the number of users (seats) on your team.

  • Team admins manage seat count by inviting or removing team members.

  • Billing for a seat starts as soon as a team member is invited — even if they haven’t yet accepted the invite.


Adding or Removing Team Members

When adding a member:

  • A new seat is billed as soon as the invite is sent.

  • If added mid-cycle, the charge is prorated for the remainder of the billing period.

When removing a member:

  • You retain access to that seat (license) for the rest of the current billing cycle — no refunds are issued.

  • You can assign that seat to another user at no additional cost during the cycle.


Changing Plans or Cancelling

Downgrades or Cancellations:

  • Changes take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

  • You’ll retain access to your current plan until the period ends — no refunds for downgrades or cancellations.

  • Your Stripe billing will show the subscription as “set to cancel” if you cancel.


Mid-Cycle Seat Changes

  • If you add seats mid-cycle, they are charged immediately and prorated for the remainder of the current billing period.

  • The billing cycle date for your team does not change.


Refunds

  • Skej does not issue automatic refunds for cancellations, downgrades, or seat removals.

  • All seats are billed for the full billing cycle.


FAQs

Can I move a seat to another user?
Yes! If you remove a user, that seat is still paid for the current cycle and can be reassigned to another team member at no extra charge.

What happens if I downgrade my plan?
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to your current tier until then.

Do you prorate mid-cycle additions?
Yes — when you add a new seat mid-cycle, it will be charged immediately on a prorated basis.

Can Free users join my paid team?
No — users on a paid team must have either a full or passive seat.
