How to use Skej on Slack

Feature highlights for getting your team started on Slack

Updated over 2 months ago

If you you're looking for information on how to install Skej on your Slack workspace, you can find instructions here.

If you've already installed the Skej app to your workspace, we'd love to tell you how you can start using Slack with your team to schedule meetings and manage your calendar.

Add Skej to your channels

If you want Skej to help schedule across your Slack workspace, you need to add the Slack handle @Skej to your Slack channels.

You can add Skej to department channels, general channels, private channels, anywhere in your workspace.

How to get Skej's attention

Skej will not have access and will not read all messages in your Slack channels.

In order to get Skej, you need to message it directly, tagging the handle @Skej with your message. If it's a new message in the channel, Skej will read your message as the first in the conversation. So if there are previous messages about scheduling, Skej won't have access to those.

If you already have a reply thread within a channel started, and then you tag Skej in that thread, Skej will be able to see the prior messages in the thread. So if you've already started a reply thread with some back and forth about availability, Skej will be able to read those messages and use that information to help book the meeting.

Internal Meetings

Once your co-workers are in your Skej team account, and they've connected their calendars to Skej, it becomes insanely easy and fast to book internal meetings.

Skej has a bird's eye view of everyone's availabilities and can instantly autobook a mutually available slot. It takes into account each person's availability, buffers, and other preferences.

You can book meetings in a group DM, public or private channel.

When giving Skej instructions, tag the specific people you want in the meeting with their Slack handles. If you want to include everyone in a channel, you can say something like "Skej, book a meeting with everyone in the @channel".

Skej will respond once it's completed the task.

πŸ‘―β€β™€οΈ Mutual Availability

If you don't need to book a meeting, but you just want to find overlapping availability between coworkers, Skej can tell you exactly when you're all free.

Works across multiple time zones and multiple calendars, even hidden personal ones your co-workers can't see!

πŸ’¬ Slide into Skej's DMs

You can chat with Skej just like you do other co-workers.

You can DM Skej and ask it questions about your own availability or calendar. You can say things like "Skej - what's on my calendar tomorrow afternoon" or "Skej- what slots do I have free on Friday?"

You can also ask it to take action on any event on your calendar. You can ask it to reschedule meetings and it will email the participants and work with them to find a new time. You can also cancel events and it will notify everyone. You can even tell Skej if you're running late to a meeting, and it will let everyone know.

You can also set up a "Chat with Skej" button that makes it super quick to start a new chat and ask Skej to help with whatever you need in the app settings.

πŸ“† Reminders and Daily Agenda

You can get meeting reminders and your daily agenda delivered right in Slack. You can manage these in your account notification settings. Just like email, Skej will DM you your agenda each morning, and send out reminders before each event on your calendar.

You can reply directly to a reminder if you need Skej to reschedule or make any changes.

If you're a Skej user, you can get Skej for Slack now! Make your scheduling a whole lot easier with your team. Skej is waiting!
