How Team Member Billing Works

Learn how adding teammates affects your Skej subscription, including prorated charges, recurring billing, and what happens when users are removed

Updated over a month ago

Skej subscriptions are billed per user. When you invite teammates to your account, they’re automatically added to your current plan and receive access to your plan’s features right away.

To keep billing fair and predictable, Skej uses prorated charges when users are added mid-cycle.

What Happens When You Add a Team Member

When you invite a new teammate:

  • They immediately gain access to your plan’s premium features

  • You’re charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period (monthly or annual)

The prorated charge reflects only the unused portion of your current billing cycle.

How Billing Works Going Forward

Starting with your next billing cycle:

  • The new team member is billed at the full per-user subscription rate

  • The charge is included in your regular subscription invoice

All team members on your account renew together on the same billing date.

What Happens When You Remove a Team Member

If you remove a teammate from your account:

  • They’ll keep access through the end of the current billing period

  • You won’t be charged for that user in future billing cycles

Prorated refunds are not issued for unused time after a user is removed.

Example of a Prorated Charge

If you’re on a monthly plan and add a team member halfway through the month:

  • You’ll be charged roughly 50% of the monthly rate for that user immediately

  • On your next renewal, you’ll be billed the full monthly rate for that user

This ensures you only pay for the time each user is active on your account.
